The biology behind KLATT
A quiet marvel of
nature.
Brewer's yeast comes from Saccharomyces cerevisiae, one of the oldest cultivated microorganisms. During the natural fermentation process in brewing, the yeast multiplies and concentrates valuable nutrients. KLATT turns this natural raw material into a highly concentrated, inactivated powder that preserves its broad nutrient profile.
The result is a raw material with exceptional nutrient density: up to 55g protein per 100g with a complete amino acid profile, natural vitamins B1, B2, B3, B5, B7 and B9, and essential minerals such as iron, zinc and magnesium.
The yeast cell walls are rich in prebiotic (1->3)/(1->6)-beta-glucans, bioactive polysaccharides that support the microbiome and help make the contained nutrients available.

Six decades.
One mission.
What began in 1962 as a family company on Lake Constance has returned as a Stuttgart-based food-tech startup: the same values, with new precision.
2008
The end of the first chapter
After decades of success, the company is sold due to a lack of succession. Production of Klatt brewer's yeast is discontinued.
2023
A new beginning
KLATT is re-established as a startup in Stuttgart. New methods for producing and applying brewer's yeast are developed.
2024
Own production line
Production infrastructure is built. The team grows, international expansion begins, and scalable processes with clear quality standards are defined.
2025
100% Made in Germany
KLATT brings NOVAcore, its core German-made product, to international markets from Korea to the United States. The principle remains: every step is 100% made in Germany.
